Brass Band Schoonhoven, conducted by Glenn Van Looy, gave the premiere of Tom's new brass band test piece This Place . . . . at the World Music Contest (WMC) 'World Brass Band Championships' in Kerkrade, The Netherlands. Thank you and congratulations to Glenn and the band, who were rewarded with a fantastic 5th place at the contest. Thank you to WMC for the permission to embed this recording. |

Latest Award
Concerto for Euphonium and Band has been named winner of the American Bandmasters Association Sousa - ABA - Ostwald Composition Award for 2025. Sincere congratulations to fellow finalist composers Erika Svanoe, Satoshi Yagisawa, and Thiemo Kraas. This is the second major recognition awarded to Tom's music for winds, with A Midwestern Suite winning the National Band Association Merrill-Jones Composition Award in 2022. |
